Many, many years ago I was studying at Aberdeen University, unfortunately 'cos we were poor students we didn't often eat this. What was usually served once a week was a dish called skirlie - apparently something to do with the noise bagpipes made....I actually quite liked it and here is how to make it...http://www.scottishrecipes.co.uk/skirlie.htm. Apparently, it's made of oats, that takes me to porridge, a staple in any Scots diet....
