Jam, jute and journalism

Yes, that's what Dundee has always been famous for jam, jute and journalism....My dad used to make marmalade, but he bought some sort of kit, added sugar to the oranges, boiled up jars and then we used to have enough marmalade for our morning toast to last us a year.  Oor Willie is a famous comic which we used to read in the Sunday Post and then we got annuals at Xmas all created by DC Thomson's where I actually worked when I was a student....
